Important Notice

Neither the submission of any vehicle for participation in any event organized by the Blessington Vintage Car & Motorcycle Club (herein called the Club) nor its consequent acceptance for the participation in any event under the direction or control of the Club or its duly appointed officials as to the mechanical condition of the said vehicle or its suitability to participate in any event, nor shall any liability attach to the Club or the said officials howsoever arising in connection with same and the signing by the entrant of any application form shall be deemed to be acknowledgement of acceptance of this condition.

Autumn Run 2016

The 2016 Autumn Run is on Sunday the 18th Starting in Russborough house at 10.30 AM for 11.00 departure.


We are unable to upload documents currently due to a technical issue. Below is the Regulations for the event.

Autumn Run Regulations

Sunday 18th September 2016

START; Russborough House 3km south of Blessington (off N81)

ROUTE: A scenic drive through Wicklow and Kildare

(Total distance. 40 Miles approx)

ASSEMBLE: 10.30am for 11am departure.

AGENDA: All entrants are invited to come along to

‘ Wellfield House’ , Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare to visit the beautiful gardens, by kind permission of Maurice and Mairead Mason.

LUNCH STOP: lunch stop in Baltinglass ( see route sheet for suggestions) or alternatively, picnic option at Wellfield House (bring a picnic table if you have one)

FINISH; Wellfield House.

INSURANCE : All vehicles should be covered in accordance with the

requirements of the Road Traffic Act and must be

registered prior to December 31st 1984.

Entries to: Alice Nugent, ‘Kylebeg’, Dublin Road, Blessington, Co. Wicklow.

NOT LATER THAN Thursday the 15TH September

(cheques etc. payable to: Blessington Vintage Car & Motorcycle Club ltd.)

ENTRY FEE: €25 per car & €10 per motorcycle

Prizes : Each Entrant will receive Refreshments and a Finishers award.

30th Anniversary Autumn Run

As we gathered on the front lawn of Russborough House in Co Wicklow we enjoyed the dry start to the day although we could see the dark clouds beyond the Wicklow mountains to the east. Everyone was in good spirits and looking forward to the day ahead.

It was great to see the return of an old regular of Blessington runs in the form of a racing Frazer Nash proudly displaying its Kildare registration and club badge.
The car was once part of the Colley family collection and was driven on many a Blessington Run over the years by the late Tony Colley.  Its now owned by Shane Houlihan and looked fantastic with its new stainless steel exhaust and a fresh lick of paint yet still retained its lovely aged interior.  Many thanks to Shane for bringing the car along.
The plan for the day was a trip over the Wicklow gap, past Glendalough and a stop for lunch in Roundwood with a finish at the Victorian Field day in Enniskerry.  Many members turned out in victorian dress to reflect the atmosphere of the day.

However the rain awaited us on the east of the mountain gap and the field day had to move to nearby Powerscourt Estate where a wonderful reception awaited everyone.  Well done to Noel Kavanagh and the Enniskerry event committee who had a busy 24 hours to make alternative finish arrangements and we appreciate their efforts.  The sun came out at the end of the day to warm us up before the final lap home.
