Mince Pie Run

December 27th

Shake off the turkey & stuffing left overs, get the car out of the garage and join us in St Kevins Hall Blessington at 11.30am for a post Christmas chat before we set off for a nice drive through Wicklow towards Baltinglass where refreshments will be available. Directions and venue details will be provided at the start and entry cost is €10 per person.

IVVCC Debate on E10 Fuel

The IVVCC announce that they have arranged to hold a promised debate on the pros and cons of the E10 fuel and supplements on Tuesday, 24th October next at 8pm in the Ballroom of the West County Hotel, Chapelizod,  Dublin. 
The two people who will speak on the subject are both classic car owners  –  James Cogan, Industry & Policy Advisor for ClonBio Group Ltd and Colin Birkinshaw, a professor of Polymer Science from University Limerick.

The IVVCC are currently hoping to provide a TEAMS style option for members who may be unable to travel to the West County for the meeting.  However, here again, they do need to know who will require the link to log in for the debate. Autumn Run 2023

Sunday September 17th

Assemble at Russborough House on the N81 just south of Blessington from 11am.

Route sheets will be provided at sign on for a leisurely drive through Wicklow to a finish at Avondale House and Forest park which has a number of feature activities available including beyond the trees tree top walk attraction (advance booking recommended), house tours, walled garden as well as the forest park.

There are light lunches available in the Seed Cafe or bring a picnic.

Autumn Run 2022

Sunday September 11th Russborough House assemble from 10.30am in front of the house.

Please arrive early to enjoy the setting, avail of refreshments for purchase from the coffee shop and catch up with old firends and/or make new ones before we set off at noon for a drive south to Rathwood where there are a number of lunch options to avail of. After lunch enjoy the grounds , the shopping or garden centre at your leisure.

We depart Rathwood at around 3.30pm head back for a finish near Baltinglass.

Full details will be advised on sign in with route sheets etc and hopefully we will get nice weather to enjoy the day.

Spring Run 2022

Venue:- Russborough House, gather from 10.30am

Tea, coffee and light snacks are available for purchase in the restaurant at Russborough House.

The run will finish at Lullymore Heritage park where there are both indoor and outdoor facilities to have your picnic. Light refreshments are available in the coffee shop.

A more substantial lunch will be available at several restaurants in Kildare town which is on the route. Suggestions are Firecastle, Hartes, Silken Thomas, Chapter 16 or Cunninghams.

Entry fee for run is €25 per car and covers entry to Lullymore Heritage, use of the road train, a guided tour, and a finishers award.

Entries will be taken on the day.

AGM 2021

Photographs invited of you and your car in 2021

Following our socially distanced AGM and Stephens suggestion that interested members submit a photo photo of their car as a reminder to us all that we can at least take car out for a short spin even if we cannot meet up.

If you email your photo to info@bvcmc.com we can gather them together with a view to publishing a selection on the webpage for others to view.

Annual General Meeting 2020

NOTE VENUE CHANGE

This years AGM will take place on Monday March 9th in the Avon Ri, Burgage, Blessington at 8.30 pm and all members should have received formal notice with details of nominations at this time.

The committee would welcome all members to attend and 2020 renewal subscriptions can be taken on the night.

Mince Pie Run 2019

When the turkey and sprouts are gone and the trifle has been polished off there are usually some mince pies left over. So why not put down the remote control and break out from the cabin fever by taking your pride and joy motor out for a spin on the annual Mince Pie Run on Friday December 27th.

We assemble in St Kevin’s Hall Blessington at 11am to catch up and discuss the weather and how bad it is for the cars before we head off at 11.30 for a leisurely drive to Baltinglass for a coffee break followed by a spin back for refreshments and mince pies at the finish in Blessington. The venue details will be supplied at sign in. So hope to see as many members as possible for what is usually a good fun run out.

Autumn Run 2019

Sunday September 15th, saw members meeting in Russborough House for 11.30 departure and drive through Wicklow, Kildare, Carlow & Kilkenny to lunch stop in Castlecomer with finish in Rathsallagh Golf Club. The rain held off and many enjoyed a picnic beside the cars. Pat Foley has supplied some very nice photos to give a sample of the cars that were out for the day.

Also successful was Dave O’Neill in his Austin Mini Cooper MK1 with engine rebuilt by Steve Griffin that was immaculate.
