A reminder to all members that the club AGM will take place on Monday March 11th at 8.30pm in the West Wicklow House in the Square Blessington.

All members are welcome and 2019 renewal subscriptions can be paid on the night.

The Committee

The monthly meetings will start for 2019 on Monday January 21st at the West Wicklow House in Blessington Square at 8.30 pm and all members are welcome.

The annual Mince Pie run will be held as usual on December 27th.

Hopefully we will get a dry day to take cars out for gentle run to blow some Christmas cobwebs away.  We will assemble at 11am in St Kevins Hall Blessington  for 11.30 departure with route sheets supplied at the sign on that contain details of the different local finishing venue for this years event.

The Autumn Run was held on Sunday September 16th and we had fantastic weather with bright sunshine and pleasant drive through Wicklow and Kildare.

The Athy museum group rolled out the red carpet for us and we enjoyed the various exhibits including the 1903 Arrol Johnson car which was the same make taken to the South Pole by Shackleton who also features in  the museum displays having been born locally.

The afternoon drive to the beautiful Rathsallagh Golf Club provided a scenic finish stop with picturesque views over the course in the valley below.   The weather suited the Buick speedster of John and Jane Stanley pictured below with some other cars out on the day.

A fine day weather wise ensured a pleasant trip to Tinahely Farm Shop and finish in Baltinglass Gold Club.  Pictures have been updated to include participants cars.

The weather seems to have finally picked up just in time for the Spring Rally which is getting close now.  We will gather at Russborough House from 10 am on Sunday morning May 20th with time for a chat and to admire the cars as well as a little something from the tea rooms before we depart at 11 am.  The plan is for a spin around south Wicklow stopping in Tinahely for lunch.  The afternoon route will bring us back towards  Baltinglass for the finish.  Entry fee €25 will include route sheets and attendance award and hopefully we will have a bright and dry day,

The RIAC show went well despite the heavy snow the week before which made it difficult to retrieve cars from their winter slumber.  A special word of thanks to Pat Denning and Joe Byrne who had to literally dig out the cars we had on the stand and to the committee members who watched over them for two days of the show.

Here is a snap shot from a previous Terenure Show to help everyone look forward to 2018 summer events.

Our annual festive event the Mince Pie Run took place on Wednesday December 27th.  We assembled at St Kevin’s Hall, Main St. Blessington and had a nice drive through Ballymore Eustace and Naas to visit Jim Boland’s car collection.

After a memorable guided tour by Jim we continued on to Tougher’s for some welcome refreshments.  Our thanks to Jim & Breda for their hospitality.  Happy New Year to all members.
